Insipration-Week 5

This photo is simple and beautiful. It tells a story. I love the almost over exposed look and the beachy theme. It is different!

Inspiration-Week 5

This photo is by my friend Marcie who is a professional photographer in San Francisco. This photo inspires me to take a different angle when photographing. I love the light and contrast in this photo and it has a majestic, playful feeling to it.

Inspiration-Week 4

I found this photo on National Geographic's website.
It is a classic example of the personal, adorable, and unique photos the photographers work so hard to capture with consistency. Someday I would like to take photos with these qualities.

Thoughts-Week 4

Just a reminder about how fragile life is can make us thankful for the little things and the people who mean the most to us.

Think about a time when something happened that made you think this way.

Week 4- Karrena Gordon

Quote-Week 3

"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
-Marilyn Monroe

This quote is inspirational because it reminds us that although things may be bad, good things can result. I also love this photo.

Karrena Gordon-Week 3

My handsome 5 year old nephew, Jonah, after exiting the pool.

He can hold his breath!
This was taken with my Olympus under water camera.

I am always noticing how people who are together wear the same (or similar) shoes.
Here is a perfect example!

I just find this image visually pleasing. The shoes are not ideal, but I love it anyway.

Some Inspiration-Week 3

This (Put You in a Song) is Keith Urban's newest single. This song not only is a good representation of him as a writer and musician, but also is a great example of someone who focuses his passion, energy, and abilities into something that he loves. I think this is inspiring because by creating music (doing what he loves), Keith shows how to live a happy, not always easy, life.

Poem-Week 2

This is an awesome poem that my brother wrote during his first week at the University of Arizona. I was so impressed by what he wrote, I think it is worth sharing.
The Beast

The thin metal slides in smoothly,
forming a perfect union with the pins of the ignition.
Turning it only reassures the bond,
and sends a bolt of electricity through the wires.

You hear the motor breath in,
suddenly the once dead metal is now screaming with life.
Moving valves and opening tubes,
all sucking and pulling for their desired share of spotlight.

Power-hungry metal arms start flexing as if to give a show,
they pound down with a force of power that could rival a hurricane.
Eight cylinders cycle in perfect rhythm,
1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 and again, 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. One-thousand times a minute.

The beast breathes, growls, rumbles, and shakes with excitement,
like an unleashed herd of wild horses, galloping in their new found freedom.
The roar is loud and deep, screeching sound of tires is heard across the quiet plains,
all two-hundred and fifty horses speed down the endless highway in perfect harmony.

1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 and again, 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8, nothing but a machine,
four wheels, seats, gauges, pedals, power and speed.
The Mustang powers away, beauty, precision, and muscle.
The man behind the wheel holds the reigns and the beast is his passion.

Quote-Week 2

A beautiful thing never gives so much pain as does failing to hear and see it.
-Michelangelo

This quote is inspirational to me because it reminds us to recognize the little things in life. It reminds me to appreciate the small things because they are what makes life beautiful.

Karrena Gordon-Week 2

These are some of the photos that I took for Eppler Photos during Summer 2010.

Wedding Photos-Week 2

These photos inspire me because of their beautiful simplicity. It makes me want to take photos that are natural and beautiful like these.

A Quote

The path of least resistance makes all rivers, and some men, crooked.
-Napolean Hil

This quote reminds me that the good things in life are not necessarily the easiest to find or to accomplish, but they truly are valuable.

Palace of Versailles - Versailles, France

This beautiful palace inspired me when I was there in 2006. It was the most beautiful and huge piece of art I have ever seen. The garden and the hall of mirrors (top photo) were my favorite.
